I'm moving house in less than a fortnight, so I decided to draw some pictures of the flat I've lived in for just over thirteen years. My plan was to fill a sketchbook, but I started a bit late so I probably won't have time. There's a lot to do. I might try and do a few more though.
There is a lot of hallway in my flat. Probably about 30%. I wish I'd spent more time in the hallway, it's a nice area.
The pipe on the left of this picture leaked gas into my downstairs area in 2004 and I had to wait outside while British Gas fixed it. Also, having the plug socket fitted (bottom right) has revolutionised the way I hoover. It was all extension leads and huffing and puffing back in the day. No more though.
I'm looking forward to having a normal sized kitchen in our new house. I currently have to keep all my food in one cupboard and all my plates and pans and bits in a heap on a big carousel thing. It'll be nice having some space to cook.
This wardrobe has had it. Come next week it'll be all in bits in the tip.
My oven doesn't look quite as happy as this in real life.
Bathroom stats: 9540 teeth cleans. 19080 wees. 4770 poos. 5 sicks. 4088 showers. 23 baths. (Estimates)
I keep tools and dustsheets in this cupboard. The doorbell lives on top of it and is wired into the lighting. It was put in when the house was built and it's very loud. If someone was to do a loft extension the sensible thing to do would be to knock this cupboard out and put stairs here, going back over the landing. It'd be a shame to get rid of it though.
I'm a hoarder. I'm getting better though.
When I moved in, the entrance was a bit pokey and dark so I put up two big mirrors opposite each other and now it goes on forever in both directions. But if I don't dust them for a while infinity gets a little foggy.
Bed.
This catflap confuses Wooly the downstairs cat. He's an idiot. I'd like Muffin to use it but I think he'd get stuck. I'll miss those cats.
You've said some nice things here xx
